Refill,
Reuse & Recycling Made Easy At Bin Inn
Have
you ever thought about how many perfectly good containers we throw out
each week? This packaging waste not only costs us money, but it also costs
the environment.
The
great thing about Bin Inn is that products are available from self selection
bins and barrels - this means you can buy as much or as little as you
need and best of all you pay for the product and not the fancy packaging.
Whether you need five litres of bleach for cleaning concrete paths or
just 100ml of dishwasher
rinse aid - you only need to buy enough to get the job
done! Bring in your empty bottles to refill so that you can save money
and also save on packaging waste.
Environmentally
it makes sense to reuse bottles and containers where possible, as more
and more containers end up in landfills. Simply take your empty containers
to Bin Inn and refill them with that particular product from the self
selection bin. It is best to use the same bottle to refill the same product
as cleaning chemicals should not be mixed. Another good reason to do this
is so that the cleaning products are always labeled correctly - no chance
of any mishaps. If you have forgotten to bring your empty containers with
you, no problems - Bin Inn stocks refill containers, these can be purchased
for a small cost, labeled, filled and used again and again.
Refilling
is easy and fun! The convenient bulk barrels have easy pour taps. Measuring
jugs and funnels are also available for those awkward neck bottles. For
those of you who are not used to refilling your own bottles, simply ask
one of the friendly Bin Inn staff to help you out.
Rubbish
Free Year Challenge Proudly Sponsored by Bin Inn
Bin Inn sponsored
Matthew Luxon and Waveney Warth on their Rubbish Free Year Challenge in
2008. Matthew & Waveney's challenge was to create no more than ONE
council rubbish bag for the year from the 1st of February 2008 to the
1st of February 2009. The Rubbish Free Year Challenge is a fantastic project
for Bin Inn to sponsor because Bin Inn is all about paying for product
not packaging. The Rubbish Free Year Challenge is a great way of raising
awareness about recycling and Bin Inn encourages shoppers to also cut
down on their household rubbish. If we all play our part and try and reduce
the number of rubbish bags we put out at our kerbside each week then it
will all add up so that together we reduce landfill rubbish.

Follow Matthew
& Waveney's helpful advice and you too can cut down on the amount
of rubbish that your household creates. Here are some basic ways to cut
down on packaging at Bin Inn:
- Bring your empty
bottles with you and refill from Bin Inn's barrels
- Bring your empty
containers with you and refill from Bin Inn's self selection barrels
- When shopping
buy those products with minimal packaging or preferably no packaging
such as from Bin Inn's self selection bins and barrels
- Just look in your
pantry and rubbish bin to see the amount of product packaging for groceries.
Check out your Bin Inn store to see if other alternatives are available
- Bring recyclable
shopping bags to Bin Inn rather than using plastic bags
- Use kerbside recycling
(if available in your area) for any unwanted plastic bottles and containers
- check which grade of plastic these are first or if not sure check
with your local council
- Buy concentrated
formulations such as concentrated laundry liquid.
