225g Chickpeas, soaked & cooked
1 Large Onion, finely diced
2 Tbsp Parsley, chopped
1 Clove Garlic, crushed
1 Egg, beaten
1 tsp Ground Coriander
1 tsp Mild or Hot Chillli Powder

1/4 Cup Plain Flour (for coating)
1 Egg, beaten (for coating)
1 Cup Breadcrumbs (for coating)


  1. Mash cooked chickpeas thoroughly.
  2. Add diced onion, parsley, garlic, beaten egg and spices.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls then coat in flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry the falafel ini hot oil for about 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Alternatively bake in a lightly oiled baking dish and cook for about 15 minutes, turning them during cooking, until golden. 

Serve as a Mediterranean mezze platter with Tabbouleh and Hummus.
