Dehydrated Oranges

INSTRUCTIONS

Using a dehydrator
  1. Wash and dry the oranges, and cut into 1 cm slices.
  2. Pat the slices dry with a paper towel.
  3. For a dehydrator, spread slices out on the rack and dehydrate at 60°C for 6-9 hours.
  4. To be sure the oranges are dried, let them cool for 10 minutes and test. There should be no stickiness or glossiness, they should be leathery, and slightly pliable.
  5. Once cooled, store in an airtight container in a cool and dark place for up to a year.

     

Using an oven
  1. Wash and dry the oranges, and cut into 1 cm slices.
  2. Pat the slices dry with a paper towel.
  3. For an oven, place the slices on a baking rack on top of an oven tray, or if you don’t have a rack, line your oven tray with baking paper. Dehydrate at 60°C for 3-6 hours, flipping regularly.
  4. To be sure the oranges are dried, let them cool for 10 minutes and test. There should be no stickiness or glossiness, they should be leathery, and slightly pliable.
  5. Once cooled, store in an airtight container in a cool and dark place for up to a year.
